Terms of Use
By downloading or using Miru AI Beauty Scanner (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The Service
Miru uses artificial intelligence to analyze beauty, skincare, and makeup products from photos or descriptions, suggest more affordable alternatives (“dupes”), check whether two products can be layered together, and show an anonymous feed of what the community is scanning.
AI Results — Important
Results are generated by AI and are for informational purposes only. They may be incomplete or inaccurate. In particular: Ingredient lists, safety notes, and allergen warnings are AI estimates — always check the actual product label, especially if you have allergies or sensitivities. Prices, availability, and dupe suggestions are estimates and may differ from real stores. Nothing in the App is medical advice. Consult a dermatologist or qualified professional for medical or skin concerns.
Your Account
You can sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can permanently delete your account and cloud data at any time in the App (Profile → Delete account).
Subscriptions (Miru Premium)
The App offers auto-renewing subscriptions, some with a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of a free trial, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Subscriptions are tied to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the App Store and may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
Fair Use
To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, scans are rate-limited. You agree not to use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the App or its AI features, and not to attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the service, or use it in violation of applicable laws.
Community Feed
Product information from your scans (product name, brand, category only — never your identity or photos) may be included in the anonymous, aggregated community feed.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, branding, and content, is owned by us and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that results are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App — including decisions made based on AI results.
Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the date above, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
